Congratulations to Matty, he surfed amazing in all of his heats, and the only CT surfer to beat him was 10 x world champion, Kelly Slater! He took down Kai Otten in his first heat, then advanced smoothly through world no. 4 Bede Durbridge. This is what Matty had to say post Quik Pro.

While the circus is on the Goldy, Cooper Chapman has been quietly chipping away on the Northern Beaches. Over the weekend he took out the opens division in Volcoms VQS at Avalon. He actually scored two seperate 10's!! Not one but TWO! The kid rips.

16 year old Chilli team rider, Matt Banting has been given a wild card into this years Quiksilver Pro at Snapper.
He is the youngest ever to be given the privilege of competing against the worlds elite surfers. He has drawn 10x world champion Kelly Slater in round 1!
We know how good he surfs and will be backing him all the way. Good luck Matty!!
